Beauty and the Beast - Introducing Holly

With 10 days to go until our opening night, our cast, orchestra and crew are putting the final preparations in place for our production of Beauty and The Beast. The cast were delighted to give a sneak peak of the show to Year 7 students in their assembly this morning. If you're a parent or carer of a Year 7 student, please do ask them about it!

Tickets are now sold out for our final performance on Friday 25th November, but there is still some availability for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. From past experience, we always recommend getting tickets in advance as we cannot guarantee availability on the door.

In one of our interviews with the cast, we'd like to introduce our leading lady and Year 13 student, Holly who takes on the role of Belle. We spoke with her earlier this week.

What's the best thing about playing Belle?

Belle is a kind hearted, intelligent girl who has a strong will and will stand up to anything she thinks is wrong. A role model for all girls everywhere!

What is your background in the performing arts?

I've been involved in musical theatre since I was little and I'm a member of Phoenix Players in Harrogate. I've also been in shows with other societies in Harrogate and beyond performing in shows such as Annie, Whistle Down the Wind and Betty Blue Eyes. I also do ballet outside of school which is one of my real passions.

You're in Year 13, what are your plans for next year?

I'm applying to study musical theatre at Mountview, Italia Conti, Arts Ed, LIPA and a couple of others.

What have you enjoyed the most about Beauty and the Beast?

I've really enjoyed all the rehearsals and developing the role of Belle - she's my kind of character. It's also nice to finish school with a Disney show having started in Year 7 playing the role of the parrot in Aladdin! There's so much talent in the cast this year and everyone is working really hard to put on such an iconic show.

We wish Holly all the best with the performance and of course her applications to University.
