I am pleased to welcome prospective pupils and their parents to our very special school. St John Fisher seeks to be both a true community of faith and a place of learning. As a Christian community, we conceive our mission to provide a process of teaching and learning, which seeks the reality of Christ and His place in out lives today. As a place of learning we seek to ensure that each and every pupil maximises their potential to the full. The school has earned an excellent academic reputation and we are proud that pupils of all abilities experience examination success. High academic standards are a priority in the school and are achieved through a highly qualified staff, good teaching and learning and a well-balanced curriculum. We seek to recognise and celebrate each child's individuality and talents. St John Fisher and St Aidan's Church of England High School have together established an Associated Sixth Form, as an ecumenical and educational venture to maximise opportunities within a Christian community. The Sixth Form offers a wide range of advanced courses and is acknowledged as a national center of excellence. As an established Arts and Humanities College, we place great emphasis on the personal growth of pupils and their active participation in the creative arts; including art, dance, drama and music. Together with a fine tradition of sport and community involvement, the school offers a wealth of extra curricular activities to ensure the personal and social development of the whole child. True to our Catholic tradition, we place great emphasis on our pastoral system, which reinforces positive attitudes and behaviour and reflects our strong Christian ethos. Parents are assured of a warm welcoming atmosphere in the school and can feel confident that the partnership of home, Church and School will remain central to our success. We look forward to welcoming you and your child to St John Fisher School.
