Mission
|
The mission of St John Fisher Catholic High School is to provide a process of teaching and learning which seeks the reality of Christ. His values, ideals and teachings lie at the centre of our relationships and activities. To this end we seek to create a true community of faith and place of learning. St John Fisher is a thriving 11-18 Catholic comprehensive school, which has developed steadily during the past 40 years to over 1,300 pupils on roll today. It provides a Christian education of the highest possible quality in the Roman Catholic tradition, with excellent standards of achievement. The school serves the Catholic community in the Deanery of Harrogate and takes pupils from a wide area of North and West Yorkshire. Set in 22 acres of parkland on the south side of Harrogate and skirted by Hookstone Wood and Crimple Gold Course, the school's elegant buildings are steeped in almost a century of history and tradition. The newer Science, Art and Technology wings provide excellent facilities, while the school is fully networked and well equipped to meet the technological demands of the modern curriculum. The recognition of Arts and Humanities College status and related building programmes have further enhanced the resources available to the pupils.
